Well it’s mid-season now and the BAS is on a break during the month of August to make way for both the Mens and the Ladies & Juniors National Championships.
We have had 3 very different rounds so far in the Series. A record entry for the 2018 Series saw Round 1 at York unfortunately having to conclude after just 3 heats and no finals. Cwmdu Car Club did an excellent job hosting Round 2 with yet again a huge entry. A long day on Saturday left the ladies second heats to be completed on Sunday morning before the hosts made their way nicely through the third heats and Finals. The challenge was on for the hosts of Round 3 with Scunthorpe Club having the added pressure of time restrictions at their venue. The huge team did themselves proud by completing the programme on Sunday in a timely manner with some excellent finals.
August sees the Mens National Championships on 4th & 5th hosted by South Wales League and then the Ladies & Juniors 2 weeks later at the same venue on 18th & 19th. The BAS returns after a huge 7 week break on 8th & 9th September up with the Yorkshire Dales club at Thornborough in North Yorkshire. Don’t forget that our final Round has changed from its original hosts of Stroud and is now to be hosted by Border Counties Autograss Club on 22nd & 23rd September.
