The 2016 Kent Cams/Simpson Race Exhausts British Autograss Series season has had its ups and down; an early curtailment at Round One, a fraught Round Two and a thoroughly enjoyable Round Three, but now we head to a potentially excellent Round four with the experienced Yorkshire Dales Club having last held a scintillating final Round of the 2014 Series. That Round will be remembered by many for the huge accident endured by Daz Nutter, but despite the long delay of nearly 2 hours dealing with this incident, the event ran with pace and fluidity on day two to complete in good time. The Dales have since held the Ladies & Junior Nationals in 2015 where they pulled off another quality meeting leaving little doubt of the high standards we can expect this weekend.

Fresh off the back of what has been descibed by many as ‘The best Nationals ever!’ the season is at a high point and spectators and competitors alike are keen to continue this buzz into Round Four. As ever we ask the question; How will the recently crowned National Champions fair in what, for mosts of them, is their first outing since claiming their big victory. Who will be the first man (or woman) to beat the Natinoal Champion in each class? There were some popular winners at the National Championships but there were also some drivers left ready to prove a point next time out, needless to say the action will be fast, furious and will produce some worthy winners come final time on Sunday. At this stage in the Series we might start to see signs in some classes of where the Championship is leading, in many the titles will remain well and truly open going into the Final Round just a month away at Border Counties.

For those who haven’t been to the venue since the 2012 Nationals, the road layout is slightly different to how it was then, and the club provided the following directions to their last Round in 2014:
“If you are travelling north on the A1(M) you need to come off at Junction 50, signposted A61 Ripon and Thirsk – if you miss this you will add about half an hour to your journey time as the next junction is a fair distance away – then at the roundabout take the second exit onto the A6055 and you’ll be driving parallel with the A1(M). Continue straight and you’ll pass the Quernhow Café on your left, and then at the next roundabout take the first exit. After three miles there will be a sign on your left directing you to the track which is about a mile down the lane on the left hand side.”
