BAS goes back to Superb South Wales League.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration for the British Autograss Series is now closed, with 574 drivers entered.
As you would expect, Men\u2019s classes Seven and Eight have the highest number of entrants, with 66 and 57 drivers respectively; Class Eight is also the best subscribed of the Ladies classes with 19 drivers entered.
There are all but two defending champions down for this year\u2019s championship, as we have lost Class Two victor Dan Evans to Rallying, and Ladies Class Ten winner Jade Russell to the UK Autograss Championship. Sarah Trott, last year\u2019s winner in Class One has moved over to the Men\u2019s class, opening the door for a new champion, and after many years of success in Junior Specials, Matt Berrisford is graduating to join his Uncle, the legendary Geoff Berrisford, in Class Eight.
Round One at the picturesque Red Roses venue, a stone\u2019s throw away from Pendine Sands, is also open to drivers from the home league in addition to those named on here, and promises to be a high quality event from a league that can draw upon a wealth of experience.
Next weekend\u2019s meeting marks ten years since the first major meeting at the venue, as the league \u2013 comprised of the Camarthen, Swansea, PHD and Teifi clubs – first hosted a round of the Series in 2004 under the chairmanship of Norman Rogers. That meeting served as the third round of the championship, and the league subsequently staged the opening round in 2006, 2008 and 2010; the latter event memorable for the Saturday morning hiatus, when the fog moved inland from the sea, and then for the horrendous dust that marred the finals. The league also hosted the Men\u2019s National Championships the following year, and delivered a fine meeting which fostered the kind of close competition we expect at this prestigious event.
